  About Las Vegas

Las Vegas has been one of the fastest growing cities in the United States over the past two decades. Attracting over 42 million visitors per year, the current population of the greater Las Vegas area reached 1.9 million (in 2009) and has been expanding on average by 80,000 new residents each year.

The city, known for its non-stop entertainment, luxurious hotels and world class golf courses, has a lot to offer outside of the famous Las Vegas Strip. Within just a few short hours are 13 National Parks including Zion and Bryce Canyon and the world famous Grand Canyon. Just outside the city limits you will find Red Rock Canyon, home to some of the best rock climbing in the world. Winter recreation enthusiasts can be snow skiing just a half hour outside of Las Vegas on Mount Charleston.

The Strip offers entertainment with Broadway shows all year-round. Most large scale performers make their way through town with music concerts (ranging from Elton John to Céline Dion) at the many venues, and just this year, the NBA All-Star game was hosted here.

There are over 60 golf courses in the region including the world class TPC Canyons (host to the PGA Tour Fry's Open). With courses developed by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, the inviting climate offers golf year-round.

Of the many appealing attributes, the weather is one of the biggest draws. The moderate climate of Las Vegas lends itself to outdoor activities throughout most of the year. You can avoid the cold winters and enjoy the proceeds of having sunshine hours 80% - 90% of the time year-round.
